whoa, look at that bruise, it’s gotten so much worse… (my plan to evade attacks on the arm clearly didn’t work - again, sorry Lydia! I’ll show you how to airbrush it after the shoot if you don’t already know how)

I had my first job interview today at paperchase (my last job, I didn’t have an interview, I just got shoved in a room to watch some health and safety DVD’s and then stuck on the tills)
They asked us to pick an item in the shop that we thought represented us - I picked a dancing dad wind up toy, because apparently I dance like my dad. quite proud, it was the most unique item, others chose organizers and notebooks and an owl pillow, someone chose a cat’s head money box which was pretty funny. I think I ‘won’ that round of the group interview. Well, fingers crossed I’ll get the job!

I couldn’t decide which image to use, I went for them both because I felt they went together nicely.

  11. Can’t decide between these two for my 365 photo…

on one hand, pretty blouse details, on the other dang that bruise is a cool colour…

    what do you think?

I did nothing creative today, but did download some free books (The Picture of Dorian Grey and The War of The Worlds) watch last nights doctor who (which wasn’t as bad as people made out), make curry for dinner and watch A.I Artificial Intelligence - which was just as depressing as I remember it.

The photo is from this day in 2011 - I have improved so much since then from looking through my old archives…

Printable A3-sized solar cells hit a new milestone in green energy

    -

Imagine a future where solar panels speed off the presses, like newspaper. Australian scientists have brought us one step closer to that reality.

Researchers from the Victorian Organic Solar Cell Consortium (VICOSC) have developed a printer that can print 10 meters of flexible solar cells a minute. Unlike traditional silicon solar cells, printed solar cells are made using organic semi-conducting polymers, which can be dissolved in a solvent and used like an ink, allowing solar cells to be printed.

Not only can the VICOSC machine print flexible A3 solar cells, the machine can print directly on to steel, opening up the possibility for solar cells to be embedded directly into building materials.

“Eventually we see these being laminated to windows that line skyscrapers,” said David Jones, a researcher at University of Melbourne who is involved with the work. “By printing directly to materials like steel, we’ll also be able to embed cells onto roofing materials.”

Printing 10 meters of solar cells in a minute means good things for solar.

    Totally nerding out to this…

the real question is can I draw with this or print designs with it?
